La Lettre from Karl Lagerfeld
For his capsule collection with the brand Hogan, Karl Lagerfeld directed a short film starring Baptiste Giabiconi and Magdanela Frackowiak. The film features the themes jealousy and passion as Baptiste ruminates over a letter Magdanela received.
The collaboration contains six pieces: a pair of sneakers, a pair of boots, a clutch bag, a messenger, a trench coat, a jacket and every item is discretely featured in the film. The collection will be available this Spring/Summer 2011. We personally don't die for the designs but the short movie is esthetic and the cast ravishing.

The Domino clock
Could you please tell me what time is it?
Yes, this is a new incredible design object, but not only... It also gives you the time! The Domino clock was created by Carbon Design Group and the dots silently changes from black to white to indicate the time.
With this design, Carbon Design Group challenges the assumptions we make about familiar objects. Joe Sullivan, industrial designer explains: "Everyone gets it, but the fact that we're not used to seeing it in this context makes it unexpected at the same time, it's this shift in context that gives the concept a twist". And there you have it!

Our 5 best fragrance ads for men
In fifth position, Light Blue from Dolce & Gabbana with supermodel David Gandi. It obviously made it to the top 5 for the whole Italian cliché: the music, the kiss, the passion!
Then we selected Le Male by Jean-Paul Gaultier. We love the rough atmosphere, the opera music and the fact that the film unifies every type of men around the symbolic fragrance.
On the last step of the podium, Obsession by Calvin Klein. This masterpiece was directed by David Lynch and the whole campaign revolved around four different films. This commercial exposes the dark side of love and passion in a powerful, yet delicate and esthetic manner.
Next we selected the short film Guy Ritchie directed for Dior Homme: Un Rendez-Vous. The film stars Jude Law and was shot in Paris.
And the commercial at the top of our podium is the vintage film Egoiste from Chanel. It is simply amazing! The tension, the sadness, the anger and, of course, the man's delicious arrogance. Enjoy!

Louis Vuitton: Art, Fashion and Architecture
Louis Vuitton: Art, Fashion and Architecture was released in 2009 and quickly became a must-have of every materialistic person that respects itself. This effort includes and describes Louis Vuitton's most important collaborations with artists, designers, photographers and architects. The book also contains several essays that aim at examining the guidance of its Artistic Director, Marc Jacobs.
Nylon Magazine draws an interesting conclusion: "The It accessory this fall may not be a bag, but rather a book. Louis Vuitton: Art, Fashion and Architecture".
Louis Vuitton: Art, Fashion and Architecture is available on Amazon for $55.

Burberry Prorsum
The emblematic British brand, Burberry Prorsum, spoils us today with the presentation of its pre Fall 2011 collection. The lines are skinny and elegant along with rich and generous fabrics. In a nutshell, Burberry Prorsum delivers a cozy, chic, and luxurious collection. Enjoy!
We particularly love, crave and adore the suede trench coat below.
Lacoste Legends
Lacoste Legends aims at bringing together 12 legends from the worlds of music, fashion or design and collaborate in the creation of a limited collection of 12 pairs of shoes. Every collaborator is invited to re-invent an existing Lacoste footwear design.
Tim Hamilton, one of the most exciting menswear designer of the fashion sphere at the moment, chose to give a rebirth to the 1963 René Lacoste design (see above). The result (see below) is a delicate and textural everyday-military-inspired-hi-top sneaker. Bravo!
